Our goal is to provide UST owners/operators with the resources to utilize their own in-house staff to conduct the 30-Day UST Walkthrough Inspections.
Posted below are training videos prepared by state regulatory agencies for conducting the 30-Day Walkthrough Inspection.
Keep in mind that the FDEP requires the visual inspection of the dispenser sumps and submersible turbine pump (STP) sumps monthly if there are no sensors in the dispenser and/or STP sumps. If there are sensors in the dispenser and/or STP sumps, they are to be inspected every six months.
This is different than the Federal annual requirement that many states follow. Although they are referred to below as annual walkthrough inspection videos, these inspections must be done every month or every six months as described above!
A great resource for Owner/Operators regarding the entire UST system is the Alabama Tank Operator Online Learning System (TOOLS) available through the Petroleum & Convenience Marketers of Alabama (P&CMA). This program is made up of printed, online and live educational sessions designed to provide tank owners and operators with a basic overview of UST/AST systems.
This program DOES NOT replace Operator Training requirements for “A and B” tank operators but instead is intended to serve as “continuing education” for those involved in the daily operation of UST/AST systems.
